Joan Duggan co-founded a leasing company, building it into a highly successful business; when it was sold she gave much of the proceeds away. After going back into the corporate world for another stint, she finally decided to found Finish Line Tutoring in New York’s Hudson Valley, as an Economy of Communion company — a business built to serve students while sharing its profits with those in need — and helped manage it for more than two decades as co-president. She was also active at Millbrook School and in the Focolare community at Mariapolis Luminosa in Hyde Park, New York.
