I remember I was in the little chapel and this little chapel was a little space that was maybe oh 30 feet by 12 feet. It was around midnight and I was sitting there and I had been asking God for years, what is it that you really want from me? I really want to do it. Well, he had the patience to get me to the point to understand because I used to sit there and go, I really want to do it.
I really want to do it. I'm scared as heck and I really don't know if I can do it and I don't know lots of things but I really want to do it. So he got me gave me the space to understand in my own being that yeah I really want to do whatever it is you ask. And that night I was just saying hey and it would felt like getting thrown against the wall and I heard you're a volunteer which is one of the vocations in the movement a nonvowed vocation.
And I went, "Really? You're kidding me." He wasn't kidding. So, I know me well enough. I wrote that request immediately before I even left the church. Thank God there was paper and a pen there. And I put it under the door of the person who was responsible in North America because I know me. I can rationalize anything. So I sat there and I went, "Okay, if you don't do this today, by the time you wake up tomorrow, you're going to be sitting there going," did you really hear right?
Are you sure this is what's happening? Why is it that you think no baloney when you know, you know, and you got to go? So that was the time for me to go. And that was certainly one of the best choices of my life. I'm very happy to have found another part of who I am. And I always look forward to seeing what the next part is.
