competitors as friends because that's what can happen if you live a culture of giving. When we first started Finish Line, we looked at all of the other tutoring agencies in the area. There were only going to be the two of us to start with and although we covered quite a wide range of subject matter, we didn't cover everything to say the least. We went and made appointments to see all these other tutoring agencies. And when we went in and said, "Hey, we want to introduce ourselves.
We're new to the business and we're looking for agencies who can help students that we can't because the bottom line is how do you help the people who walk in the door? How do you help the students?" We got a lot of dumb looks to begin with and in the process we made some friends. I mean, we had calls coming from people for easily the 20 years that we were in business and we also offered other people what we could not take care of.
So again, it's an orientation thing. Why are we here? Are we here to make money? Then for sure you wouldn't do anything that stupid. You would figure out what to do. Are you there to help the customer and know what's what's they need and how you can find help for them? Then you're going to do those kinds of things as a normal part of business. And that's what we did.
