Moment Of Joy

Joan Duggan was co-founder of a very successful company, which she later sold. She then worked in the corporate world for a while, but eventually gave almost all of her money away and founded an EoC-minded tutoring startup in upstate New York, which she helped manage for over 2 decades. In this clip, Joan Duggan talks about the joy that she received from a single moment of writing her first EoC check, donating some of her first profits in her EoC business to the less fortunate.

  1. Why is it important to keep in mind the less fortunate when looking at profit?
  2. How else can somebody give to the less fortunate if they're unable to donate money?
  3. In an EoC business, the framework typically involves profit sharing to those in need. What are some ways in which a typical business tries to appear as though they give to those in need, when in reality they could be giving more?
