Celeste Harvey

Professor at College of St. Mary & Co-owner of Communion Properties

Celeste Harvey is associate professor of philosophy at College of Saint Mary in Omaha, where she teaches and writes on applied and normative ethics, social and political philosophy, and luxury. Her work has focused on virtue, the concerns of women, and business and the common good. Much of her recent scholarship centers on the Economy of Communion. With Andy Gustafson she co-edited Finding Faith in Business: An Economy of Communion Vision (New City Press, 2024), which gathers seminal essays and case studies on the movement, and contributed the chapter “A Person-Centered Theory of the Firm,” setting the EoC against conventional stockholder and stakeholder models of business. She has also co-authored “The Economy of Communion Movement as Humanistic Management” in the Humanistic Management Journal, and written on profit and purpose, luxury, and the good life.
