Moment Of Joy

Liz Wallin, a former EoC entrepreneur, founded project LIA, which helped provide work training for formerly incarcerated women in Indianapolis.

In this clip, Liz Wallen, the founder of Project LIA, a program to help women who have recently been released from prison, discusses a personal moment of joy when one of her program's past participants returned to the workplace. She explains how this is atypical for any other business, but because of the deep roots with EoC values around building relationships, the participant continued to feel connected to Project Leah long after she was done with her role there.

  1. What are some skills we can use to build deep relationships with coworkers or employees in the workplace?
  2. How might the workplace look or operate differently if the employees feel more connected to and involved with each other on a personal level?
  3. How does this explanation of relationships at the Project Leah differ from a typical workplace? What might be some key differences in how people without these relationships act in the workplace?
