that I used to work in a bank and a bank is very um pyramidal in terms of um the higher you go the less people there are and the more salary the more benefits you have while the tellers and those that are in the bottom they're the widest the biggest number and yet their their salary compensation is is is more on the lowest so at one point I uh they promoted me as the IT manager and they were happy um of the results of of our group.
So they promoted me to um an officer position in a bank. So an officer you you're like you're going to a click. Um and so I says that's that's great. uh but I would like to promote uh or increase in the salary of the tech one. The tech ones are those are the guys that are carrying the the uh computers crawling under the desk. They really are the ones that are working the hardest. So I wanted to say okay then I wanted to um promote and and give him a 10% salary raise.
But at that that year the CEO says there are there will be no salary increases this year and I said well 10% of salary raise of that person is so little right uh but they said no no my boss says no you we cannot do that then in in at that point I says well in that case in my conscious I cannot accept this promotion of being an officer of the bank without uh with with my tech guy not being giving the race.
We went all the way to the CEO and the CEO says, "All right, just let's do it, but just don't publish it. Let's not tell this to everyone like that." Then another time in in in that uh bank um they gave me uh a bonus. Again, like I said, the higher you are, the more the more you get more the benefits. So they gave me a bonus and I says, "No, this bonus should be two two other people because they did a lot of work.
There three of us. We we worked a lot." But they says, "No, no, no. This bonus is for you because they like you, you know, they like what what you guys are producing." But this time they're not they're not going going down. I mean, they says that's it. you you you either take it or leave it. So, um at that point, okay, I said, "Okay, I'll take it." So, I took that bonus and uh when I I took that bonus, I cashed it.
And one third of that I brought one guy and says, "This is your bonus." And the other third I gave it to the other another person and I kept the the one third. So that the three of us got that bonus. I just told them please don't tell people that you know uh but to me conscience wise I had to do that because I didn't feel that that bonus was entirely belonging to me. So I gave that to them and of course what happens those two other guys work the hardest they work a lot much more you know so it's that constant experience you give and you receive sometimes in an expected way but many times in a very unexpected
