2026 // Q3 // Mar-May

  • Conducted three more Economy of Communion interviews with business and Focolare leaders.
    • Bill Neu: Finance Analysis in Internation Banking, Professor of Theology at Seton Hall & Catholic International University, leader in Focolare spirituality
    • Claude Blanc: Founder and CEO of CHB Associates and former director
    • Ed Roy: Business owner, Storyteller through film, video and digital images
  • Over 350 clips created by Kameron Bayne and our intern team, Tommy Currax, Max Olsen, Molly Starkle & Isabella Taddeini
  • Matthew and Andy attended the 35th anniversary celebration of the Economy of Communion in Argentina, Andy presented there with 50 others from around the world

  • Matthew and Andy attended the The Des Moines Meeting, hosted by the Archdiocese of Des Moines and organized by The Communion & Liberation movement, Andy presented EoC values and participated in a panel discussion on human dignity in work.

  • Intern Andrew Hoover attended the DoMoreGood Conference hosted by Creighton University. A networking event of like-minded businesses working alongside the EoC.

  • Andy attended the Western Business Management Association in Las Vegas. He presented on how business can be life-giving and they way EoC values contribute to this approach.

  • Andy attended the Association for Private Enterprise Education in Las Vegas. He presented how EoC values and practices can be implemented in private enterprise.

  • We published two articles about the EoC in Living City Magazine, one by Andy Gustafson and another by Joan Duggan.

  • Andy attended the Management and Social Justice Conference, a virtual event hosted by New School. He presented on Entrepreneurship Towards an Economy of Giving.

2026 // Q2 // Dec-Feb

  • Jan 8-11: Council of Christian Ethics Conference 2026, Washington, D.C. We’ve created connections with formal and informal interested parties, locally and internationally, and we were able to present the project at 18 of their events.
  • Completed mini-website, including a library of an initial set of about 200 snippets of experiences from interviewees, a presentation of the directors, staff and the advisory board, milestones, institutions that have invited us to come share about our project, a space for networking with feedback and reciprocal connections.
  • Hired three more interns, making a total of 7
  • Completed video interviews for the Project with Sasha Ongtengco and Emery Koenig
  • Over 300 drafts of clips farmed from interviews
  • Andy was one of four scholars invited to the Sundance Film Festival by the Windrider Institute Fellowship Program.
  • Displayed booth at Baylor University
  • Gave talk at Dallas Theological Seminary
  • Presented EoC Project at 2 different Creighton classes
  • Scheduled upcoming events:
    • April 1: Western Business Management Conference Presentation on "Business Doesn't Need to Be a Soul-Sucking Endeavor: EoC can Help!"
    • April 7: Association of Private Enterprise Education Presentation on "An Economy of Communion Approach to Business: Harnessing Private Enterprise to Help the Poor"
    • April 29-30: "Entrepreneurship Towards and Economy of Giving" at 2026 Management and Social Justice Conference at the New School, NYC
    • May 19-21:  Interview with EoC Entrepreneur Claude Blanc at Creighton
  • Developed resources and courses for a beta build platform on Skool.com to enhance communication and community engagement
  • Put together press release with press kit in preparation for launch of social media campaign soon

2025 // Q1 // Sept-Nov

  • Interviewed and hired staff, providing University onboarding and training
  • Created a Board of Advisors
  • Conducted over 100 hours of video interviews
  • Edited interview transcripts in view of publishing our first book and creating classroom case studies
  • Website buildout: economyofcommunion.org. September 2025: An initial Intro Video, explaining project goals, with the possibility to sign up to follow the project.
  • Interviewed by Focolare Media
  • Begun to select and contact writers for Curriculum Essays designed to introduce the EoC
  • Worked on enhancing an online video-based course: An Intro to the Economy of Communion
  • Attended conferences about business and ethics and visited campuses:
    • Sept 12: The Humanities Forum, Providence, RI
    • Sept 12: Providence College, RI
    • Oct 9-11:Christian Business Faculty Association Conference, Lee University,TN
    • Nov 28-30: Economy of Francesco Meeting, Castelgandolfo, Italy
