I would say fear is the source of every obstacle that that gets in the way of the solution that's already there. And fear to me is it's a natural human emotion. And I feel like God gave us like the ability to experience fear because there there's certainly benefits from from being able to feel fear. It's what it keeps us safe. it keeps us alive in certain context but in other I would say many more context it's fear of our neighbor it's fear that they will hurt us it is fear that I'm going to that the decision I make now might repeat pain I've experienced before I think fear and risk kind of are like opposite sides of the coin if that of like the same it's like fear might be on one side but then taking the risk to do something requires me to overcome that fear even for that moment.
And so that could be risking rejection or risking a negative consequence in service of building the relationship. And to me it's like the relationship having the relationship um established and then being able to give into that relationship is how one like both sides how I would begin to know what what the gift of my neighbor has to offer to solve for whatever thing we need to solve for. Um but if I am scared of learning that or scared of because of my own assumptions or my own you know experiences with someone who remind whom that person reminds me of or just fear of um failing.
I think is what keeps the idea of abundance mindset from being a more like a more natural default um default of like how you would go into a challenging situation or even like the world that we're experiencing at present. Um, I feel like fear is the source of so many of so much of the pain that we end up actually experiencing because we don't understand and we fear what we don't understand. We fear what's not familiar.
But if we have that faith and faith that like oh even if I am rejected at first even if I actually do experience the things that were really painful like believing that sometimes I have to like literally tell this to myself like okay I'm going I'm risking loving you know I'm risking opening myself up to relationship. I'm trusting that by saying yes to the relationship and yes to the chance of building or rebuilding that even if it's even if it is painful and even if it's not what I expect like my faith if I can like I don't always go there but when I'm able to go there I tell myself like even that is for me to learn from like and I'll know how to better deal with that rejection because I've already experienced it before so like I already know I was able to get through it before like I can like get through it again and that's only meant to fortify me in my ability to continue to build relationships and overcome
fear like but it's I have to tell myself that and I think I've especially in experience especially in relationships where I've I've come into it trusting that person I think this is most prevalent in families um but it's the hardest when I've believed that I could trust you know certain people and then come to experience and learn that I couldn't. And I think the fear of of that just like how terrible that feels um does limit so many of us from from taking the risk.
It's having that I think connection to faith and often it's like seeing someone else model that for for me it's like someone talking through that with me um a friend or a professional but I think it's also someone that's just because they shared their experience with me of doing that in their own life which is so um one of the most important I think tools that the focalari has shown me is the storytelling and the experience sharing that's been sort of the model um or a way to like have that exemplified so I can you know I can trust like if they can do it I can do it too um or that's how they said it or that's how they that is the mindset they took I can like look back to that in trying to you know overcome my fear that I have in this situation
