Emery Koenig spent his career at Cargill, joining in 1978 and retiring as vice chairman and chief risk officer. He led the company’s Agricultural Supply Chain and Energy, Transportation & Metals platforms, oversaw corporate transportation, logistics, warehousing and risk management, and was elected to Cargill’s board as part of the corporate leadership team that set overall strategy, growth and funding. Some of those years were based in Geneva, running worldwide commodity trading and risk management, the Middle East and Africa region, and palm oil businesses across Southeast Asia. He holds a business management degree from the University of North Dakota.

He has served on the board of The Mosaic Company and as a trustee of Minnesota Public Radio, CARE and the Catholic Community Foundation. A long-time member of the Focolare Movement, he has done a great deal to support its efforts, serving on various boards and committees.
